Free In-Home Assessment
Our free in-home consultation allows us to determine what services you or your loved one will require based on needs and budget. An owner, client care co-ordinator or supervisor will visit in person. This allows you to get familiar with the people who will be supervising your care.
Assessments take roughly an hour to complete. A series of important questions will be asked to give us a better understanding of the service you or your loved one require. Then we can customize your care to ensure all your needs are met. Do not hesitate to invite family members involved with your care. This allows them to ask any questions they have and adds to your level of comfort.
In order for us to get a sense of your wants and needs, we must first get a good understanding of you, your medical conditions, and your likes and dislikes.
Here are some questions we may ask:
- Do you have any allergies?
- Have you had any falls recently?
- Do you need help with bathing, if so, do you prefer a bath or shower?
- Do you need help getting dressed or undressed?
- What medications do you take?
- What activities do you like to do? Read, watch TV, go for a walk, play cards, entertain for afternoon tea?
Once we get your answers, we will complete a quick Home Safety Assessment to ensure all precautions are taken so that your home is as safe as possible. Our goal in doing so is to, for example, reduce the risk of falls by removing clutter or placing rugs and mats in areas prone to slips.
No Obligation Service Agreement
After completing the in-home assessment, a care plan will be prepared based on your requests, needs, and budget. Remember, this care plan is customized specifically for you. If you don’t like something on it, we can change it. We understand the importance of independence and strongly believe you should have the final say on the services you want. Having the right amount of care will allow you to remain independent at home and give you a better quality of life.
The final step is to sign a Service Agreement. This agreement contains all the details regarding Premier Homecare Services Sault Ste Marie’s policies and procedures. We understand your home is very much yours and want to reassure you that our caregivers will do everything in their power to respect that. You can cancel the Service Agreement at any time. However, we ask that you allow us a few weeks to settle in and get comfortable with each other. After that time it’s up to you to decide, but we will let our service speak for itself!
We want to make sure clients and caregivers are a perfect match for each other. Sometimes adjustments are needed to make sure you feel comfortable and get along with your caregiver. Do not hesitate to request a different caregiver, we’re more than happy to help. We can meet with you to address the issues you have and assign you someone better matched for you.

By doing so, we provide you and your family with the peace of mind that someone will always be there to help when you need it. We use this system as a security measure to keep you safe.
Care plans are flexible based on your needs. Your visits can be as short as 3 hours. That can be on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis; it’s up to you. No matter the situation, we can provide you with the homecare service you require 24/7. Our Share the Care option is great if you want to split home care with someone, which saves time and money.
